Dr Searson - Retirement

Warrior Square Surgery is extremely sad to have to confirm the sad news that Dr Searson has retired. He has been an important part of Warrior Square Surgery for many years, and he will be sorely missed. He started at the Practice in 1975 as a partner. At that time the practice was situated at no 16 Warrior Square, and over the years he has been involved in many moves. His good humour and resilience, together with his willingness to absorb and manage a high workload, have all been an important part of the stability of the Practice over many years.

Dr Searson played a hugely important role in the development of the Practice, including throughout the various moves. He became Senior Partner in 1983, a role he continued until December 2016. He ran the Hastings based GP training programme successfully for many years. He introduced acupuncture to primary care in Hastings, and later influenced his other two partners in training for this, so that at one time Warrior Square was able to offer three doctors who could provide this service. He undertook extensive minor surgery for many years, together with joint injection, which he continued until very recently.

He continues to perform as a highly rated jazz clarinet player, and over the years he has shared the stage with many famous British and International artists.

His departure will leave a big gap. We all wish him a long, happy and healthy retirement.

Dr Shepherd - Retirement

It is with great sadness that Warrior Square Surgery needs to announce the full retirement of Dr Shepherd, who will be ceasing work from 31st December 2017.

He will be in the surgery to do specific clinics, seeing some patients, but will no longer be an active General Practitioner from that date.

Warrior Square Surgery are extremely saddened by this news however, wish him all the happiness in his retirement and we know that all his patients would feel the same.
